The Internet is not a babysitter

The Internet is not a baby-sitter for your kids. The worst thing you can do is buy your child a computer, get him or her a fast Internet connection and then effectively say, "okay, go do what you want on the Internet in your room and leave me alone so I can watch my TV shows." There are many tools that you can use to to monitor and control your child's Internet activity. From pre-schoolers to teenagers, they can get into trouble on the Internet even by accident. Some kids are very mature and you may trust them, but doesn't mean that you can't check up on their web activity to see how "your upbringing" is doing.
